New Home Schooler's Workshop

We have a new home schoolers workshop which started up on November 6th. This workshop will meet monthly on the first Friday of every month.

Local home schoolers gathered at BACC to learn how to sew pillowcases for kids in need! Maddie, Katie, Katherine, Aryanna, Deborah, Sarah and Matthew set up their machines and were hard at work all morning. It always warms my heart to see young people sewing for a good cause and learning a great skill!! Great job kiddos!!

October Happenings!

Workshop!

October 17th was our 3rd Saturday workshop and we worked on a group project. We put together Crazy Shortcut Quilt blocks using the quilt-as-you-go method and using our special stitches on our machines! Jean and Leah joined our group for the first time today! It was great to meet you!! Tamie, Benay, Maricela, Melinda, Zoe and Deborah were there also working on the blocks! Rebecca stopped by and dropped off some quilts she had quilted on her long arm! Thank you ladies for making this a fun and very productive day!!

Anne Arundel County Auxiliary Reception

On October 20th, the AAMC Auxilary held a reception to thank all handy crafters for the crafts made and donated to the hospital. We were able to hear and see what other hand crafters are doing to bring a ray of sunshine into the lives of those who visit the hospital for various reasons.
I know some of you couldn't make it today but know that you are very much appreciated for all you do to comfort kids!!

Trunk or Treat at Bay Area CC

On October 30th, Tamie and I thought it would be fun to have a Quilts for Kids trunk to let more people know about us. We used the recent quilts that were turned in (I hadn't washed them yet) and displayed them on my car. We also set up a little game so the kids could toss a fabric beanbag into a hole. The kids loved the game and several asked about the quilts.

Quilts Turned in!

We had 35 quilts turned in this month!!  Is that a record?!!  Woot Woot!!
