September Workshop

Our next workshop is coming up Saturday, September 20th.  We will be meeting at Bay Area Community Church in Room 223, (or 235 or 236.  I will have signs up to let you know) from 10:30 -1:30 pm.

We have been asked to make quilted tote bags for the Virginia nursing students again this year.  They will be stuffing them with goodies for kids and delivering them to the Children's National Medical Center during the month of December. Our goal again this year is 50 tote bags by the beginning of December.  Last year we made and delivered 45 to the nurses.

At the September workshop we will be demonstrating how to make a bag and will have several kits available. We also will have kits for you to take home to work on them there.

We will also be making quilts for the Walk to Walk Foundation's Annual Christmas Walk for kids in need in Anne Arundel County.  Our goal is 50 quilts by December (I believe we have about 20 so far).  Quilt kits will also be available at the workshop.

Please bring your sewing machine, sewing supplies and a lunch (optional).

We cleaned out our quilt supply in December and need to start stocking up for a delivery! I will be calling around to different organizations to see where the biggest need is soon.

We are going "Back to the Basics" this month. For those of you who haven't been to a workshop in a while and are rusty or if you need some instruction, I will be demonstrating the basics of how to take one of our kits and sew a quilt top together.

Feel free to come, sew, chat and just enjoy the day making a special gift for a child in need! Please bring your sewing machine, supplies and a lunch if you desire. I will bring fruit and bagels.

Hope to see you there!
